Hi, I’m Vanessa — and I am so excited to freeze time with you! As a Salt Lake City family photographer, my heart is rooted in celebrating motherhood and the beauty of family life. I know firsthand how busy, loud, and beautifully exhausting life with young kids can be. That’s why I’ve made it my mission to take the stress out of family pictures and turn them into a joyful experience.
How My Photography Journey Began
My love for photography started after my first daughter was born. I quickly grew frustrated with my point-and-shoot camera and my phone always missing the little moments I wanted to remember. My husband gifted me a used DSLR, and from there, I taught myself how to capture my children as they grew.
What began as a personal passion slowly grew into a business. I’ve now been photographing families professionally for over 11 years. Along the way, I’ve learned that family photography is about so much more than perfect outfits or posed smiles. It’s about real connection, authenticity, and celebrating the stage of life you’re in right now.
What Shaped My Approach to Family Photography
As a mom with neurodiverse kiddos, I understand what it’s like to balance chaos, shifting moods, and unexpected curveballs. That experience has given me deep patience and a calm presence in every session. I don’t expect your kids to be perfectly still or always cheerful — I meet them where they are.
My strength lies in helping families settle into their natural dynamic. Whether it’s snuggles on the couch, belly laughs in the backyard, or quiet moments holding hands, I guide you into spaces where you feel comfortable and connected. That’s when the real magic happens.
Why I Do What I Do
For me, photography is about celebrating motherhood and family. Family pictures often come with pressure — coordinating outfits, getting the kids ready, hoping everyone cooperates. My goal is to remove that stress from your shoulders. You don’t need to force perfection; you just need to show up with love for your people. I’ll take care of the rest.
During your session, we’ll focus on what naturally makes your family happy. If your kids need a break, we’ll pause. If the mood shifts, we’ll roll with it. My sessions are flexible, low-pressure, and full of genuine connection. Because at the end of the day, those are the moments you’ll want to remember forever.
